Happy New Year! Too busy with Die My Darling at present for much of an update... although here's a shot of my lovely Miss Angel prior to Bar this past Saturday. |
As promised (and long overdue) here's a few recent snaps! From New Orleans - 11/2000: Angel , Jean Lafitte's and a rainstorm on Bourbon St., Anne Rice's Antebellum Mansion in the Garden District (like you thought we wouldn't go!), and our little courtyard @ the Biscuit Palace on Dumaine and Bourbon. From Terri King's Fashion Show @ the Los Angeles Music Awards - 11/2000: Terri King and models backstage, models Beth, Petra & Peter prior to the show @ Hair Outlaws, Miss Angel and model/singer Dawnne backstage and Terri King and yours truly prior to the show. And finally, from MP3 Support Night @ Communion - 11/2000: 'you know who' and photographer David Leidner. I do apologize that there aren't more at present, although Angel and I spent more time playing than existing through a lens during our stay in the Quarter. As for the LAMA shots, fetish photographers Gary & Pierre Silva photographed Miss King's models extensively, so stay tuned as I gather some of the pics from Miss King and post them here. Hmmm, I'm in a strange mood today. It seems my thoughts are anything but linear, so excuse anything that may come across as fragmentary. Websites I'm addicted to at present: Malice's Beauty Destroyed and Jessicka's Love in Vein. I'm intrigued by BD due to Malice's honest, ongoing and in-depth commentary, as I am Jessicka's web-portal and updates. I think I'm going to have to buy a web-cam... the only question is, 'Where do I place it?' Any suggestions? (I guess this makes me not only a voyeur but an exhibitionist as well. Who would have guessed?) More later today? Perhaps. My wishes to you for the coming year. |

Yet another holiday in L.A., and I find myself catching up on much-needed work as opposed to celebrating... such is life. On a more uplifting note, both the photo-shoot I did on Sunday with Donna Ricci for BITE ME Magazine, as well as the Terri King Fashion Show @ The L.A. Music Awards on Tuesday went off well. Expect behind-the-scenes pics soon (as well as the promised New Orleans shots)! And speaking of pics, here's a scan of my Angel from a recent photo spread she did for 28th Street Magazine. (She is just such a vamp!) Thanks to everyone for coming out to support Die My Darling last Sunday for MP3.com Artist Support Night at Communion; the turn-out was wonderful, and we look forward to playing live for you soon (at present we are tracking). For more info, please visit the DMD web-site! |

Back from New Orleans... it was beautiful to say the least - the decaying opulence, the architecture of the French Quarter, the afternoon rain, the tangible history of the Biscuit Palace, the Pirate's Cove cat who adopted Angel... I simply didn't want to leave. I'll post some pics here as soon as they are developed (I know, I am absolutely HORRIBLE about getting to the photo lab!) On the DMD tip, I finished tracking vocals for a new song on Sunday, and I think it will blow your mind! In addition, Club Communion will be giving away Die My Darling CD's and t-shirts this Sunday (Located @ Orsini's Night Club, 9575 W. Pico Blvd, Beverly Hills) - for more info, visit www.diemydarling.com. |

Happy Halloween... and before you say anything, I am well aware that the 'renovation' of Blatant Narcissism just didn't happen, although I wanted to get this site back up before I left for New Orleans, so... here it is (until I find some time to actually renovate it)! What have I been up to? Die My Darling is now fully on-line, the CD is now available, and the response thus far has been overwhelming! Following the release parties at Communion and Absynthe (my thanks to Randy, Purple Heather and Noah), the band is presently back in 'The Crypt' writing and tracking new material (you won't believe what we are doing!), and we will soon begin to prepare for live dates. For more info, including bio, press, new pics, music(!), a guestbook, etc., visit www.diemydarling.com. Hmm, I'm running out of time... oh, here's a pic from the Terri King Fashion Show at Makeup earlier this month... and yes, I'm the one in the top-hat! And speaking of Terri King, she has asked me to model for her again this November 21st @ the LA Music Awards. In addition (and also on the modeling tip) 'Goth Supermodel' Donna Ricci and I will be doing a shoot together in the coming weeks which will be featured in the UK Goth/Vampire magazine BITE ME... so stay tuned. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported myself, this site and particularly Die My Darling... keep coming out! It was great to see all of you at the release parties, as well as hearing your thoughts and seeing your posts on the DMD Guestbook (don't be shy!) |

So what have I been up to? I just returned from Sonoma, where my grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary (undeniably romantic)! Today, rather tired from My Ruin's performance last night, which incidentally was incredible! On the Die My Darling tip, test Polaroids will be coming soon from this weekend's shoot with photographer Deverell Weeks (with clothing by Terri King). With less than one month to the release of DMD's maxi-single 'Sleep,' mark your calenders for the following (and swing by Die My Darling to leave your thoughts, rants or screams on the now-active guestbook)! On October 7th, I'll be appearing in Terri King's Fall fashion show at Hollywood's Club Makeup. Models include My Ruins' Tairrie B., Jane's Addictions' Dave Navarro and more. If in Hollywood, don't miss it! On Friday October 13th, Die My Darling.com goes fully active to coincide with the release of the DMD maxi-single 'Sleep.' Swing by the site on 10/13 for a chance to win a free copy of the CD (the 13th person to post a brief description of their most frightening relationship will receive 'Sleep' and a Die My Darling baby-tee)! Release Parties for the DIE MY DARLING maxi-single 'Sleep' will be held @ the following venues this October in Hollywood, Ca. - In Beverly Hills @ COMMUNION on Sunday, October 15th. Located @ Orsini's Night Club, 9575 W. Pico Blvd. (Thanks to Communion promoter Randy for his support!) - Hollywood's very own Goth/Industrial dance-club ABSYNTHE on Sunday, October 22nd. Held @ Tempest, 7323 Santa Monica Blvd in The City Of West Hollywood. (Thanks to Absynthe promoters Noah & Purple Heather for their support!) |

I know I am tardy in regards to my updates...what can I say? DIEMYDARLING.com is now on-line (well, at least a teaser page)... expect the site to be fully active on October 13th to coincide with the release of Die My Darling's maxi-single 'Sleep.' Release parties will be held at not only Beverly Hill's Communion on October 15th, but also at Hollywood's very own Absynthe on October 22nd; stay tuned for details! In addition, Terri King has asked me once again to appear in her next fashion show, to be held at Hollywood's Club Makeup on October 7th (the last one featured members of Marilyn Manson, Hole and Miss Tairrie B. herself... expect the next to be even more high-profile!) If in Hollywood, don't miss it! Coming soon, shots from Angel's latest modeling shoot with photographer Deverell for 28th Street Magazine, (in which she appears in a rather provocative leather dress, courtesy of King Clothing), teaser shots of Die My Darling and (on-line now) an explanation as to what transpired with 'The Darker Side of Eternity' (succinctly, the editor is a snake). Until then, here's a recent Polaroid of myself and Miss Angel on our way to Bar; for more pics, including shots from Communion's 'slave auction' and 'Bats Day @ Disneyland' (courtesy of Miss Blue) swing over to The Fang Club! |
What's transpiring at present? Aside from suffering the disgusting climate of a Hollywood summer, I'm in the studio laying down vocal tracks for Die My Darling's 'Sleep.' Expect the maxi-single to be released this October, as well as the band's web-site, merchandise, and much more! |
More photos from Communion on 6/18/00; the Goddess Angel, myself and the (uber gothic) Angel and finally, Miss October clearing cobwebs. |
No, I haven't abandoned you! Just very, very busy... what's happening at present? Well, THE DARKER SIDE OF ETERNITY (in which my horror short 'Emerald-Irised Basilisk' will appear) has been pushed back to a Christmas release (for more info see the Publications page). I apologize to all who have already pre-ordered, although it seems I have little control over the editor. And on yet another literary note, Universal's HorrorOnline seems at present to be on hiatus, although I am continuing to provide news. On the rockstar tip, it would appear that Die My Darling is finally getting off the ground! I've been in the studio this week working with musical genius Frank Reiche (from Immaculate Corrosion) on new material, and it rocks! I can't even communicate how talented he is, as well as how enjoyable to work with! In addition, guitarists Lance and Entropy have joined the project ... stay tuned for CD and tour dates(?) later this year. For your approval, here's a shot from last month's photoshoot for Terri King Clothing (taken by fetish photographers Gary and Pierre Silva). Swing by Fotografie for more! And finally, Blatant Narcissism will soon be receiving more attention! Expect MORE CONTENT, MORE UPDATES, MORE PICS, MORE RANTS (and generally just MORE) with V4.0! I want to thank everyone who has supported this site over the last four years...just don't be so quiet! Tell me what you want to see! |

A recent shot of 'you know who' and Taime (Newlydeads, Faster Pussycat) at Sinister. |
So very busy, and in desperate need of an evening out, sans even the slightest amount of responsibility. As promised, here's a shot from Terri King's 2000 Collection Fashion Show (taken by Gary and Pierre Silva), as well as a recent one of my darling Angel. Strange that we both look so pensive, for we weren't! |
As Terri King asked me to model for her 2000 Collection on February 5th (along with Twiggy from MARILYN MANSON and several other celebrity models) the following article over at CD NOW may be of interest, as well as this review featured in the LA TIMES. Coming soon, still photography and video of the event by Pierre and Gary Silva. Until then, here's a shot from the evening; (pictured left to right) Destiny, my lovely Angel and Emily. |
I apologize for the lengthy delay between updates, although I have little time at present due to more literary endeavors. I do however want to leave this; myself and my much-adored Angel, taken on our wedding day, upon the 'eve of Halloween. In the coming year watch for the publication of "Emerald-Irised Basilisk" in The Darker Side of Eternity anthology (publication Winter 2000 - ordering information can be found here), a sequel to the 'Love& A.45' photo series, my usual plethora of genre-related literature for HorrorOnline and much, much more! Until then, MERRY CHRISTMAS! |
There are times when reality exceeds your dreams. Such was the case on October 30th, as amidst a Fall breeze, Sonoma vineyards and my family, my Angel and I exchanged wedding vows. Language falls hopelessly short in regards to my feelings as they pertain to this day, and due to such I shall not attempt to expound, except to say that I have never seen a more beautiful sight than that of her in flowing satin, her lips trembling, her words a poignant caress, her body against my own. |
I realize that since V 3.0 of Blatant went live I have been horribly amiss in regards to posting things of a more personal nature, particularly when it comes to this page (although I did attend to a bit of house-cleaning today.) This most likely however won't change until the onset of November, as a particular girl I am hopelessly in love with shall be adjoining me beneath a tangle of fallen leaves and vineyards, her dress flowing behind... As for tonight, off to the Bar for some much needed merriment. Oh, and things I have been up to; LA Guns at the Key Club, Type O at the Palace, Gavin's for Halloween tree decorating (thanks Gav!) and an insane amount of literary work, although it is print unfortunately having little to do with the heart. |
Dead Poets...almost three years have passed since he first led me up those stairs, and now, as October approaches and the leaves begin to spiral in burnt umber, I find that beneath the twisting and ornate paths of life, certain truths remain. For that I thank you Bullet... |
There have been quite a few changes to 'Blatant;' here's a run-down. In addition to re-designing the Publications page (links will now take you straight to any articles on-line!), the Cinema and Fotografie pages have both been manipulated as well. Till next week... in need of my Angel and off to the Haunted Mansion.. |
As promised, on a more personal note (it has been so long since I wrote something as such); although my apartment may have moved, the building remains the same; a graceful 1923 building replete with French windows, high ceilings, crown molding and a view of the Hills (and yes, the Hollywood sign too), although it is now that I am blessed by an Angel's presence. Sitting before the windows the other ‘eve upon the chaise, listening to Switchblade and sipping Merlot, my mind spinning down after such momentary displacement, I felt her arms slip about me from behind, and realized how frighteningly perfect my life has become... it was at one time that I believed that the concept of ‘love’ was a myth established by forlorn poets, an ideal that the populace dreamt of in futility... I no longer do, although nor do I understand why she feels I am worthy of such unbridled passion, understanding and faith. Chinaski, in his poignancy once wrote; "...it’s not pleasant to die on the cross, it is much more pleasant to hear your name whispered in the dark." He couldn’t have been more correct. |
